Aspen McCulley - ABC Certified Dog Trainer
Puppy I, Adult, Private Sessions
Trainer Aspen McCulley’s passion for animals began at a very young age; every stray creature in Texas was either made her family pet, or cared for until released. Putting her affection for animals to use, Aspen volunteered at Animal Adventures, a 200+ animal family-operated zoo where she fed, administered medication, cleaned up after and trained exotic animals.
Aspen is in her senior year of the psychology degree program at the University of Massachusetts. During her early college years she worked and volunteered at the Lowell Humane Society rehabilitating dogs into excellent homes. Unfortunately, 80% of the dogs entering the shelter were there for behavior issues due to incorrect information and handling techniques in the home environment. This inspired Aspen to attend Animal Behavior College, which focuses on positive reinforcement.
Aspen joined the committed and enthusiastic team at Zen Dog Training and moved into the city to be closer to her wonderful clients. Upon completion of her senior year at UMASS Boston, Aspen plans on pursuing a rewarding career in positive reinforcement dog training with a focus on spreading awareness about early intervention. Her hobbies include creating artwork, fostering kittens and raising parrots.

Gordon Fontaine, CTC
Owner / Operator of Zen Dog / Private Sessions
Gordon started this business because of his passion about helping people create healthier, happier relationships with their dogs. He's a Certified Dog Trainer (CTC) with a Certificate in Training and Counseling from the San Fransisco SPCA Dog Training Acadamy. He's proud to be one of only 400 graduates of this highly intensive, world-renowned program where he had the priveledge to work alongside some of the best dog trainers in the nation.
Gordon has been training dogs since he was 11 years old. "I know what works, what doesn't, and why" say's Gordon, "I won't try to sell you on the latest dog training fad or gimmick. I just want to improve your relationship and connection with your dog."

Melissa C. McCue, CPDT

Melissa has been training animals in some capacity since she was 7 years old. She has always been excited about the animal/human relationship, and how to improve it. No matter the task, she needed to know how to communicate with the smallest barn cat, the dogs on her fathers dog sledding team, or her neighbors 4 Horse team of Belgians.
She went to Painesville, Ohio to pursue a Psychology degree (with a focus on learning theory and animal behavior), and earned her Bachelors of Science degree in 2003. In 2008, Melissa earned an international certification through the Council of Certified Pet Dog Trainers.
She and her K9 partner, "Sadie" competed for 4 years in K9 Frisbee. She has trained other dogs (including a Springer Spaniel) to compete in K9 Disk. In 2005, she teamed up with Zen Dog Training, a company that shared her views on positive reinforcement methods, and explaining learning theory in every class.
Melissa's goal is to make your relationship with your dog a fun and rewarding experience, whether you want a an indoor companion, an athletic hiking partner, or a foot warmer. Zen dog allows her to pursue her dream of teaching people about the psychology of humans and dogs, and how they can work together.
